The guy taking notes is missing out on the fun.

LOLLLL

If I had had the chance, I would have liked to be a doctor. I wonder if I would have survived seeing handsome young men naked in front of me. Especially with beautiful buttocks like this ... I might have taken the proctology specialty .... LOLLLL

  2. I assume quite a few men chose to work naked when stationed in tropical areas.

    1. In some places such as Guadalcanal, their clothes literally fell apart from all the moisture.

  3. Yes, from what I understand, lots of soldiers stationed in the Pacific spent time naked due to the heat, humidity, etc. Particularly when doing grunt work.

    1. Yep. Actually my grandfather was stationed there, but he never told me he went naked.

He was surprised to learn boys my age wore trunks when we learned to swim. I still swam naked at swimming holes tho.

I wasn't surprised Blackwater guys got reprimanded for sunbathing, other than their apparent immunity. (During Iraq War 2, Blackwater employees were privileged at: No pesky regulations, and they were paid more.) I was surprised it was another soldier complaining instead of an Iraqi.

  4. That's only partially true about soldiers working nude in the tropics during WW2. Before WW2, men didn't walk around bare chested in public pretty much anywhere in the U.S. After WW2 men who worked outside frequently went shirtless in warm weather, which was attributed to them working bare chested in the tropics during the war. Most men cooled down by swimming at a beach or showering off the sweat. Both were done naked and most stayed nude until their next shift. Lots of men were allowed to wear shorts (cutoffs, non-regulation) to work in the excessive heat. Officers didn't have these freedoms. None of these men worked barefoot, so any photos of nude and barefoot guys were taken off duty.

    1. Yeah, it got a lot of "likes" before Google took away the like button.

    2. I was probably one of those "likes'.
I think this would make a great military recruiting poster. I should tell them that. Think they'll listen?

    3. Well, the Armed Forces have come a long way socially since this picture was made. Who knows?
