I don't know if the guy at center is spanking his buddy or scrubbing his behind.
The Finns call it "sisu." It's dauntless courage in the face of overwhelming odds. It's persistence, never-say-die, let's get 'er done. I was also thinking...We present day Americans make much of these scenes of naked males not hiding their peters, of being relaxed in one another's bareass presence. The men in these pictures would think us odd, or obsessed, for that. I realise that we as homosexual men have a bit of a different take on such photos. But heterosexual men would be uncomfortable about them. Either way, it seems a bit sad, IMHO.
