Zaro

This image of Zaro Rossi is the first of two in today's series where subtlety takes
precedence over dramatic contrast.  There's a mystery to this one that makes it special.

  1. All I can say is "oh oh oh!". There's no mystery that this is a man, but...you are right, Jerry, there is STILL a subtle aura that cannot be defined or pinned down.

  2. What was I just saying about setting the bar high? This is an absolutely beautiful photo. Superb lighting, subtle contrast and a beautiful model all make for something truly special. The way the light captures his maleness is beautiful. This will definitely go onto my all-time favourites list.

    1. He looks almost as though he's balanced on a ledge in an amazing combination of delicacy and power.

  3. I agree with everyone’s comments. These are all beautiful photos and examples of great compositions of light and dark. This is and isn’t subtle. The brightest focus is in no way obscured, but all the rest is a very sensual “S” curved line of shadows and textures from top to bottom of the frame. I especially like the “cross” of his breastbone, pecs and abs.

  4. Hard to appreciate other excellent photos after that one. Perfect lighting that leaves the viewer to add his own interpretation.
