Jean Merlier
Someone other than me cropped most of the Arax logo from this shot of Jean Merlier.
Beau culturiste 1948, très audacieux ! Arax was not afraid to pose his modèles full nude. 1946-1949 were years of imposed austerity and ration of food and goods in France with the Monnet and Pons economic plans. Not a good time for many in a time of a weak franc and 80% inflation, sacrifices to get Marianne back on her feet after the war. And we French kept our joie de vivre which serves us well :)
