Here is an artist's rendering of what the sculptor's models might have looked like.
Of course, we all hope that these gorgeous men actually existed, but I read somewhere that most, if not all, of the sculptures of the Roman Emperors were "enhanced" to please the subjects. Although, handsome Emperor Hadrian appeared to be HOT in every depiction!! 🤭
He's my favorite, and it's fun to think that I'm a descendant.....although he was Spanish, or from Tarraconensis, & I'm Sicilian. That fox BATHED with his soldiers, you know! 🥳🏛️
