  1. Attractive guys. Didn't realize there was a Black pop there in the '40s; would've thought Philly, since it's bigger.

    1. Northern industial cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Pittsburgh attracted waves of Black migration from the South in the early 20th C.

  2. Many moved north for factory jobs that opened up during Ww1 and Ww2, as well as to escape the hell of institutional racism in the South and parts of the Mid-West.
