Ken Clark
This is Ken Clark, the actor who played Stew Pot in South Pacific.
I love South Pacific as a show and the score is first rate but I didn’t care for the film version either with Mitzi Gaynor (too much was cut and rearranged and those damn colored filters) or the tv film with Glenn Close (a butch Nellie). I was in the show in college in 1981. I played a shirtless Seabee in the Bloody Mary and Nothing Like a Dame numbers.
Just about the only reason to watch South Pacific, too.

I agree. It's one of those classic musicals that didn't grab me.
DeleteHe and Ray Walston outshined the main stars of that film.
ReplyDeleteRay Walston could upstage almost anybody.
DeleteClark posed for Hassalevris’ Spartan Studio. Reba McIntyre was in a revival of South Pacific that featured a few beefy bottoms….:)
