Greek artist Yannis Tsarouchis (1910-1989) was best known for his paintings of Greek sailors,
and that's mostly what we will see today. I am, however, including a few other types for variety.
We begin with a different version of a sailor painting that I posted over six years ago.
Great to see Tsarouchis's work here. I own a print of his.

DeleteWonder how Tsarouchis fared under the military dictatorship that ruled over Greece from 1967-1974. They outlawed long hair and beards (Orthodox clergy were exempt), rock music, mini skirts, and censored the arts and film….:\
