I remember clearly that I was in college when I first noticed an uncircumcised guy and it was nearly the 80's. It's highly unlikely that both models would be uncircumcised and not have toned athletic bodies if not gym muscles. I also noticed that the model on the left is holding down the other model's left hand from touching his package. Although, both models are clearly getting excited. The school I went to was absolutely strict about hair below the collar, so we all grew bangs, and it happily coincided with the surfer craze.Vintage Muscle Menhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08244653188564625879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6524340241288844456.post-13058694792852566382020-08-05T13:38:27.947-10:002020-08-05T13:38:27.947-10:00I'd forgotten the names of those hair products...I'd forgotten the names of those hair products and the ubiquitous nature and mess that they made. Wildroot sounds like it wouldn't keep a flattop up, just shiny. I do remember the pressure to conform back in the 60's especially with our hairstyles. Because I was in Little League, and swimming that whole short/summer hairstyles thing was something we all did. But by 11 I wasn't going for that anymore and my "Mod" (or sissy Beatle haircut) seemed to do more than anger my father. It seems that having bangs and no product was one of those signs of the apocalypse and his son's homosexuality. It all seems so ridiculous now, actually unimaginable. So for these untoned models with short haircuts and a moderate amount of shiny pomade, they seem to elicit some strong feelings of how anachronistic it all was back in 1971.Greggyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16229237642038065796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6524340241288844456.post-22891830692544915972020-08-04T21:13:53.894-10:002020-08-04T21:13:53.894-10:00You make some good points, Greggy. That was one reason for doilies on chair and sofa backs . . . kept grease off the upholstery.Vintage Muscle Menhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08244653188564625879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6524340241288844456.post-59114186472604750462020-08-04T20:05:04.130-10:002020-08-04T20:05:04.130-10:00Just because the photo was released in 1971 doesn&...Just because the photo was released in 1971 doesn't mean that it was taken that year. The furnishings as well as the hairstyles seem very mid 60's. I was in grade school then and had friends who had a difficult time getting rid of their pomade. If you remember back then, most guys traded in the pomade for hairspray even if they kept their pompadours. It seems to me that these nude photos were taken 65 - 67 ish, and published when the laws on male nudity were gone. They're definitely a handsome couple from another era.
