Joseph Ferrier painted this academic piece in 1871.
Lovely...well, I would say that..Quite far forward, almost on the edge of the padding, much of the weight taken by the legs. Not sure what to do with his left arm and hand...that happens a lot..I love arranging the wooden boxes, trying out positions, seeing if they work..so, this is a great rendition of the actual pose.
