Autobahn Ornament
This is the mock-up for "Monument to Work," a huge piece that was meant to have towered
over the median strip of one of Hitler's new Autobahns. It was never completed.
I hope this is on display somewhere because it's too beautiful not to be shown. I love this guy's work. He has an obvious love for bodybuilders.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about this piece, but there is very little of Thorak's work extant due to wartime bombing and postwar de-Nazification.
