Douglas of Detroit Day
We are over due for a full series of Douglas Detroit material, so that is today's theme.
I stole this excellent photo of Earl Kirk from James over at Men From Back Then,
a site that has sadly been dormant for quite a few months.
Douglas Juleff was one of the greats of physique photography in the studio, if not the greatest. That golden era of 1935-1955 in physique photography we won’t experience again, but for these images like you present here at your fine and well curated website, like a keeper of the flame. Rex in DC
The lighting is beautiful, and the oil does not detract from the shot at all, imho.
