This is First Generation by Kal Nielsen from 1908.
- man av sten - Ironic that the work of Kai Nielsen would be in the Glyptotek, as he went there to study the works of Danish and French sculptors and Greek and Roman art for inspiration. What a fine gift the museum is from Jacobsen in many ways.

That tradition of learning goes on today. We saw more than a few student artists sketching in the museum.
