Two and a half years ago I reorganized my photo file organizing system, and somehow my pictures by Swiss photographer Karlheinz Weinberger ended up in the wrong group of folders. Well, I accidentally rediscovered them the other day, so here's a new series of his work. We start with a guy in what appear to be a farmer's hat and motorcycle boots.

Such an unrefined stance that is almost a dare. It is seductive!
ReplyDeleteRight. One might even say swagger.
DeleteA bookstore here has Der Kreis a vintage gay magazine that a lot of his work is in. They are not for sale and are a part of his private collection but he allows one to look through them. His work is quite different.
ReplyDeleteDer Kreis translates as The Circle. I read a play in my college German literature class by Berthold Brecht that incorproated it, The Caucasian Chalk Circle. Both the play and Karlheinz Weinberger's work are quite noteworthy.
