Hippie Day

It's hippie day on the blog, and we begin the show with the first of several photos
from rock festivals. This one is a group at Leon's Lake at Woodstock.

  2. The men are gorgeous but I’m reading about the free love movement in the late 60s and the amount of STIs, gonorrhea, syphillis and pubic lice would turn your stomach. Sorry to be a Debbie downer but that’s the overriding image I have of the hippie movement in 2026.

  3. Had an aunt who worked at a youth counseling center set up by the city of San Francisco to deal with all the runaways that had the dream to live on love in Haight Ashbury !
They soon found out what a rough city San Francisco can be !
She said many of them were pathetic, used by adults, committing crimes and pandering to get by, fucking like rabbits and strung out on drugs. When the hippy movement first started in the city, the hippies were benign and relatively harmless. A few years later and the opportunistic drug dealers and other less savory characters took over, and that psychedelic dream of the hippies became a nightmare. :-(
