Korea 1952
This handsome young man was an American soldier in Korea in 1952.
His name is John Lewis. He was actually Canadian, and in this pic was a Private who belonged to the 1st Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment. He fought in the Korean war, and is described as a survivor of a Chinese attack (presumably he made it home). The source of this photo is given as Paul E. Tomelin (not sure if he was the photographer), Department of National Defence. Library and Archives Canada. Dated 13 October 1952.
I'm guessing he was born in the early 1930s, which would make him the same age as my father (still alive) who also served in the Army in the Korean War.
Interesting look. Prussian, I'd guess.
ReplyDeleteVery handsome, I too hope he did.
