Block
Despite the wood block the model can rest his knee on,
I get the feeling that this pose would not be easy to hold.
He has got the usual "triangles" to aid stability. And his torso is far back enough to narrow the centre of gravity, so as not to put too much strain on the back in supporting the weight of the upper body and head. His knee seems to have a pad, which is good. Definitely, not easy to hold. Very challenging, but the sense of pride and satisfaction, in being able to maintain such a hold over extended time, is worth it. As models, we often feel discomfort, even bordering on mild pain. However, that amazing "buzz" we get working naked makes it all worth while.
