Prague 1910

Although he wasn't identified by my source, this draped model looks like Gustav Fristensky, a Czech strong man and wrestler of the early 20th C.  That fits as the photo was made in Prague in 1910.

 

Although he posed as a discus thrower in this 1910 Prague photo, 

Gustav Fristensky was championship level wrestler.

Today is Wednesday, and I'm continuing my tumblr practice of doing "lagniappe" G-rated posts on the day.  This time I am featuring Gustav Fristensky, a Czech strong man of the late 19th and early 20th Century.  This is one of two photos I have of Gustav with a discus.

I posted this at least once on tumblr, but I couldn't leave it out of a Fristensky series.  It is both a personal and follower favorite.

Sorry about the grainy photo quality on this one, but I had to have something for the Bum Brigade.

This is Gustav and his three brothers.  Quite an impressive family, eh?
