New Year

Time for the annual New Years Eve edition of the blog, so away we go.

San Francisco

I think this one is from San Francisco in the 70s.

Happy Partiers

It's easy to tell that these guys are having a good time.

New Years Eve, the Movie - 1929

This is a scene from the 1929 movie New Years Eve
where the party turned into a murder mystery.

Strip poker?

This was in a group of party photos, but it looks like a game
of strip poker where everybody lost . . . intentionally.

1900

It's 1900 here, and note the empty liquor bottles on the floor.

A pitcher too far

This is what happens when things go a bit too far.

1962

The Tonight Show, 1962.

Wild crowd

Quite the party going on here.

Ken Haak Day II, Part One - Private Collection

For my second series on the work of Ken Haak, I decided to do a two parter featuring work from two coffee table books he published in the mid-1980s.  We start with a shot from Private Collection.

Mitchell style

When I first saw this picture, I immediatel thought of Jack Mitchell's
work with dancers, but this is without doubt by Ken Haak.

Looking at us

The model here is looking right at us, and we're looking right back at him.
The light/dark contrast of the two sides of the photo is amazing.

Beautiful backside

The muscles, pose, tan lines, and lighting all work together to produce an exceptional photo.
And of course, Mr. Haak started it all by choosing a gorgeous model.

Blond

The last photo from Private Collection shows a blond model with interesting lighting.

Ken Haak Day II, Part Two - Summer Souvenirs

Part two of my second Ken Haak series is from a coffee table book called Summer Souvenirs.
We start with an interesting shot that must have taken an effort to set up.

Poolside

This two page item from the book is an example of "less is more."

Open book

Here we have an open page from Summer Souvenirs.
Looks like ice cream and candy.

Tan lines

The tan lines here are sumptuous.

Jockstrap

Our last image from Summer Souvenirs is a guy in a jockstrap on a deck.

Men in the Forest Day

Today's theme is men in the forest. and we start with a guy who looks
like he just stepped in something.  Don't you just hate when that happens?

Classical

This looks like a German reenactment of a Classical scene of some sort.

Above and beyond

This guy seems to be looking above and beyond.

Hanging out together

These two seem to like hanging out together.

Joe Knowles

The guy in the jockstrap is Joe Knowles, a Boston man who announced that he was doing a survivalist trek through the Maine woods in 1913 barefoot and wearing only the jock.  Here he is being seen off by a group of journalists and supporters.  It was later found out that he actually spent the time he was supposed to have been trekking in a comfy cabin and got a ride to the finish point.

Perched

Our blond model is securely perched in a huge tree.

Sturdy Staff

Both the model and his staff look sturdy
in this photo made at the edge of the woods.

Cold season

The model here might have gotten a bit chilly as the lack of leaves indicates a cold season.

Amateur #118

Mr. Scumbeast said this one was amateur, and he called it Male Nude 118.

Cedar

Our last forest fellow is standing partially obsuvered by a juniper tree.

Hairy Derriere Day II

The last time I posted a set of all hairy asses, several of you went over the moon, so here we go again.  We start with the always popular Brian Idol on what appears to be the AMG roof.

Jess Williams

Despite the damage, I really like this photo that I found labeled only as Jess Williams.

Roberto

This model is identified only as Roberto, and he appeared i
n one of those early 70s magazines called Young Studs.

Cambria Material

Frequent commentator and contributor Cambria posted this on an online board
and identified the AMG model at right as Earl Lawrence.  Thanks, as always!

Ralph Pfundstein

The AMG model here is Ralph Pfundstein, and he seems happy to pose bent over a log.
The hamajang set is classic AMG/Mizer.

AMG Duo

Tom Wayne

Bruce of LA's shower isn't nearly as famous as Bob Mizer's,
but this photo of Tom Wayne just outside it is sublime.

Ken Cunningham

Here we have Ken Cunningham in the infamous AMG shower.  If the Mizer compound
were in West Hollywood, it would have been awarded a historic marker by now.

Rugged

All I know about this one is that it appeared on page seven of Rugged magazine.

Richard Harrison

Closing out the hairy derriere series with an AMG shot of Richard Harrison and a motorcycle.

Bulging Swimmers Day, Part 1 - Men in Trunks

Today we have a two parter on the theme of bulging swim suits,
starting with this guy beside his boat on a beach.

Smiles

What do the guys here with the biggest smiles have in common?

Family Album

Somebody even commented on this one in the family album.

Inches

Inches?  OK, I get it now.

Snapshot

This is an amateur snapshot, but the photographer seems to have
had emphasizing a particular element in mind.

Bulging Swimmers Day, Part 2 - Onesies

For Part Two, we have some men in onesie suits.
Our first swimmer seems quite confident.

Trio

Here we have a handsome and friendly trio.

No imagination

Very little imagination is required for this one.

Sweden 1946

These guys are Swedes from 1946.
