David of California, ft. two photos of Chris Hanson

A couple of weeks ago I posted a photo of Chris Hanson by David of California, and a viewer named Nick commented that he would like to see more.  I'm more than happy to oblige, particularly given that I had been contemplating a series on David of California.  So today's set will start and end with two "new" photos of Chris.  Also, in doing this I discovered that my collection by this photographer is very limited.  Anyone willing to share more will be profusely thanked and credited.

 

Jim Rollins was a lot hairier than nearly any of the young models in the burgeoning of male nude photography which occurred in the late 1960's.  The "biographical" comments that accompanied some of the photos in the multitude of short lived magazines of the era could be amusing.

David of California joined a lot of other late 60's photographers in using the wrestling motif.  Some may say it became trite, but it's popularity does endure as a symbol of masculinity.

I have to say that the camera angle produced a good result.

 

Ending the David of California series with another shot of Chris Hanson.

I don't know if his expression is worried, startled, or both.  Perhaps its "Who? Me?"

 

David of California was one of those photographers who appeared during 

the era of liberalization in the late 1960's.  His work isn't bad, and I am trying 

to put together a series featuring it.  This is Chris Hanson from 1968.

 

Squatters, Part 1 - Nude

Our theme today is squatters, and I don't mean the kind that move into vacant properties without paying rent.  Jim Rollins struck a cheeky grin in this photo by David of California.
