Douglas of Detroit Quarterly

I do a full series on each of the classic era physique photographers at least every quarter.  This time it's Douglas of Detroit, aka Doug Juleff, and we start with the only unknown solo model of the day.

Leo Maryck

This is Leo Maryck, Mr. Michigan of 1947.

Larry Steiner

Here we see a well oiled reclining Larry Steiner.

Vic Seipke and Friend

That's a young Vic Seipke at right with an unknown friend.

Bill Hooper

Bill Hooper gives us a classic competition flex pose.

Stan Stanczyk

Stan Stanczyk's back muscles really show off in this one.

Mike Dubel

I never get tired of looking at Mike Dubel, and this reclining shot is an unusual pose for him.

Dick Buckholts

Bob Gibe

The amazing Doug Juleff, aka Douglas of Detroit, took this exceptional picture of Bob Gibe.

Bob Delmonteque

Bob Delmonteque went on from modeling to become a competent photographer, but this isn't a selfie.  Most sources attribute it to Douglas of Detroit, while a few say photographer unknown.

Mr. Buchholts

Our last model named Dick is Dick Buckholts, whose name I have seen spelled four different ways.
The photo, of course, is by the immortal Doug Juleff, aka Douglas of Detroit.

Mike Dubel

I just posted another photo of Mike Dubel less than a week ago,
but I had to include this Doug Juleff treasure for Mike day.

Douglas of Detroit Day

We are overdue for another Douglas of Detroit (aka Doug Juleff) series.
We begin with Stan Stanczyk in a seated photo.

Bob Delmonteque

Double exposures were a significant element of Doug Juleff's portfolio,
and this one of Bob Delmonteque is one of the best.

Bob DeWeese

Doug Juleff photographed the always impressive Bob DeWeese in the Lake Michigan dunes.

Larry Steiner

I get a David Bowie vibe from this picture of Larry Steiner.
