J. Wayne Higgs Day

I recently featured a nude self portrait by J. Wayne Higgs in a selfie themed series which drew 

several comments.  Mr. Higgs' nude work is dominated by his self portraits which were 

taken over a period of four decades.  Today I am posting some of his other works, 

but I promise to do a series of his nude selfies in the near future.

 

1968

This 1968 photo was reworked by Mr. Higgs with emulsion at a later date.

 

Guild Press

Guild Press of Washington was a publication favored by gays,

and this nude by J. Wayne Higgs appeared there in 1969.

 

Arthur

Arthur, Washington, D.C. was made in 1970.

 

Undated

My source gave no date for Dappled Male,

but it resembles Mr. Higgs' early work.

 

Vatican

This undated photo of a statue in the Vatican Museum was made on one of Mr. Higgs forays into Europe.  Although we will of course focus on his male nude work, he also photographed fine architecture, industrial sites, natural scenes, and G-rated portraits, both solo and group.

Male Torso

The photo for Male Torso was originally made in 1982, 

but Mr. Higgs added  the overlay effects in 2015.
