Troy Saxon Quarterly

Time for the quarterly Troy Saxon series, and we start with the always impressive Rusty Steele.

Bob Foxx

Here we see a moderately oiled Bob Foxx.

Unknown

We have a better record of model identification with Troy Saxon than many
other photographers of his era, but I have no name for this one.

Mike North

Mike North seems to think someone is following him.

Billy Moffit

This is Billy Moffit, aka Billy Moffitt, aka Billy the Kid.

Joe Litener

My source identified this model as Joe Litener.

Jim Lindsey

I never get tired of looking at Jim Lindsey (sometimes spelled Lindsay),
a model Troy Saxon referred to as Sarge.

Troy Saxon Day

Troy Saxon, aka Stuart "Pinky" Rosenberg, was based in Kansas City, Missouri for most of his photography career.  Today we look at 10 of his photos starting with John Birmingham.

Billy the Kid Moffitt

Although it doesn't say so in this magazine blurb, Billy Moffitt was marketed as "Billy the Kid."

Bob Foxx

One of the magazines where Bob Foxx appeared seemed fixated on the double x spelling,
but that picture wasn't as good at this one.  And this one ain't great.

Richard Parsons

My source identified this model as Richard Parsons, and dated the photo at 1967.

Troy Himself

Here we see a shot of Troy Saxon himself, but I'm not sure if this is a selfie or by another photographer.  Stuart "Pinky" Rosenberg was discovered by a California photographer while on a spring break trip around 1959, and it was shortly decided that Troy Saxon was a better commercial name.  Not too long after that, Pinky was behind the camera himself and doing quite well at it.

Tom Hawes

Troy Saxon's models have a higher proportion of identified men than
most photographers of his era, but this handsome fellow is unknown.
Edited to add:  Viewer vintage fan 1952 correctly identified
this model as Tom Hawes in the comments.  Thanks!

Jim Lindsay

Brian E sent me this double view of Jim Lindsay, aka Jim Lindsey, aka Sarge.  Thanks, Brian!

Donnie Kay

Closing the series with Donnie Kay and an impish grin.
