Bush and 'Stache

A certain other blogger I know will probably like the up and down elements of this one.

Navy 1890

The bedroom eyes immediately grabbed me when I first saw this 1890 sailor.
The mustache and cropped beard are nice, too.

Big Mustache

This handsome fellow with a big mustache doesn't look too athletic,
but perhaps this was a "before" photograph.

Mustache Men

Today's theme is mustache men, and we start with Lon of New York's
photo of Louis Maschio and his Boston Blackie.

Ronnie Dartezo

We can barely see the mustache, but I had to include this AMG shot of Ronnie Dartezo.

Robert Deckard

Bruce of LA took this photo of Robert Deckard.

Fred Orlando

This is Fred Orlando by Bruce.

Ronnie Moore

Indoor color photos by Don Whitman of Western Photography Guild are not that common,
but they tend to be very good, as shown in this shot of Ronnie Moore.

Mike O'Neal

This well hung specimen is Mike O'Neal by Metecue Associates.

Monte Hanson

Here's another AMG photo.  This time it's Monte Hanson.

Stan Ellin

Chuck Renslow of Kris Studio took this photo of Stan Ellin.

Anthony Falco

Bruce of LA took this photo of Anthony Falco, but it was
published posthumously under the Kensington Road brand.

Pepper Moreno

Our last mustache model is another Western Photography Guild model.
This time it's Pepper Moreno.

Mighty Mustache Men Triple Feature, Part 1 - Full Length Photos

Today we have a rare triple feature of Mighty Mustache Men from the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.  We start with some mostly full length photos, and this is Oscar Samuelson.

Poddubnyi

Ivan Poddubnyi was a famous Ukrainian strong man whose career extended from the Russian Empire well into Soviet times.  The photo above was made in the 1900s, and the one below when he was middle aged.  He is something of a hero in Ukraine and has a museum there in his memory.

Postcard

Two things stand out about this postcard, the prodigious mustache
and the stamp, which seems to be on the wrong side.

Sandow

Eugen Sandow had a mustache throughout most of his career, but it doesn't show up well in many of his photos.  This one shows it along with a lot of fine muscles in middle age, no less.

Mighty Mustache Men, Part 2 - Stables

Part two of our Mighty Mustache Men triple feature is compromised of "stables" of athletes, all of whom have mustaches.  This is a wrestling troupe that participated in a 1902 competition at the Folies Bergere.  Who knew?  I'm sure half the gays in Paris showed up clamoring for front row seats.
