Miss Magnolia Thunderpussy's German Military Swimmers, Part 1 - the First World War

It's time for another foray into the massive collection of German military photos that Miss 

Magnolia Thunderpussy assembled.  Today we specifically look at swimmers, and it's 

a two parter, one for each of the World Wars.  We start with some men putting in a ferry 

in World War I.  Too bad the chubby man with the pole kept his uniform on.

 

Not bashful

This crowd of soldiers in a rocky pond seems mostly quite comfortable with being photographed 

nude.  Quite a few of them are looking right into the camera and smiling.

 

Mass of Men

Miss Magnolia even had a date for this mass swim, 1918.

The photo, alas, does not enlarge well.

 

Old favorite

This snapshot of three men carrying their boots while accompanied by two dogs was a viewer favorite on my old tumblr blog.  MMTP wasn't sure if they were on their way to or from a swim.

 

Jump on in!

This is probably my favorite of the day.  To start with, we have a nice group of good looking men having fun. The details of the man jumping in at right, the guy bobbing in the lower foreground, and two other men in differing stages of jumping in add some charm to the whole thing.

We start the World War II section of today's series with a grainy snapshot 

of two chummy men on a primitive dock with a third approaching them.

This must have been taken from a boat or raft.

 

Discovery

MMTP was sure these men had just discovered a swim spot, but someone

 pointed out in the comments that they were already naked, so they must 

have known about it   A cross exchange followed.

 

Lakeside

Miss Magnolia Thunderpussy was especially fond of this photo of five Germans beside a lake.

 

Blurry

These men on a rocky beach are blurry, but at least a big smile

 and a big something else come through.

 

Muddy water

\Our last World War II German swimmers are in a rectangular hole filled with muddy water.  

I have several other shots of these guys that I will post in a future set.

 

Latvians

Miss Magnolia has always been well informed on her Eastern European military types,

and she indentified these at 1930s Latvians.  Must have been summer.

Pictures of German soldiers were a specialty in Miss Magnolia Thunderpussy's collection,

and these three with a washtub and towel are a good example.

 

Miss Magnolia Thunderpussy Day

I've frequently made reference to Miss Magnolia Thunderpussy's ascerbic comments on 

everything from wallpaper to interior furnishings to gardeners.  It's way past time to present 

a set of photos which I acquired from her, and I'm starting with 10 pictures from her vast 

collection of naked German soldiers.  MMTP could be brutally frank, and she called this one 

"Fat German soldier about to indulge in a spot of skinnydipping."  The real surprise was 

that she even posted the thing.  Of course, I loved it and told her so.

 

Washing up

I've always wondered what the man at center was rubbing against that large flat rock.

 

Surprise description

I was somewhat surprised when MMTP described this beefy young German soldier 

as "well built."  Her tastes ran toward the more slender types as a rule, 

and I've seen her describe men similar to this as "well upholstered."

 

World War I

Miss Magnolia's affinity for German soldiers extended to both World Wars.

This shot of swimmers and a dock is from the first.

 

Count them

"I've given up counting . . . " was all Miss Magnolia Thunderpussy had to say about this one.

 

Dinghy

Who needs a rubber ducky when you've got a rubber dinghy?

These German soldiers seem quite pleased with theirs.

 

Blonde

Miss Magnolia had a thing for blonde soldiers.

 

Parading I

Although she used the term "parading" in the photo which follows this one 

in today's set, I think she should have reserved the term for this group 

which she simply called "WWII German soldiers bathing."
