Thomas Eakins, Intermission - The Artist Himself as a Nude Model
I like Eakins so much, I'm adding a small group of photos of the man himself au naturel.
He was not about to ask his students to pose nude if he wouldn't do it himself.
I have to agree. There should be no hiding behind the camera. I'm sure that it would help convince models to pose for him. Of course fellows like me would be quite willing to pose for anyone that offered to photograph me ��.
I have several photos in my collection of photographers and models together where both are nude. Only in the case of Eakins is the photographer well known. Some of the photographers, such as Bob Delmonteque and Russ Warner started out in the business as models, btw.
