Pre-Nazi Germans Again
In the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, a number of Germans happily engaged in nude outdoor activities, and today I will feature some photos of them. We start with a discus thrower.
It's thought that the naturist ideal of Germany is still strong, and inspired the movement in other countries. Nudist places can be found all over the world, but it is still (pretty much) only in Germany where casual nudity can be found in a place equivalent to our own Central Park.
It travels with them sometimes, too. I was vacationing on Lake Garda in Northern Italy a while back and noticed a group of nude people in an area that was just a general recreation area. When I commented to a local, she said, "They're Germans. That's what they do."
