Maurice Vidal Portman was an Englishman who was obsessed with making nude photographs of men in the Andaman Islands and other nearby areas.  He actually kidnapped some of his subjects and kept copious notes on the size of their genitalia.  Some, like this one, were actually done in a sort of scientific looking set-up, but he posed others in homoerotic Classical Greek scenes.  Just to add to the confusion, some of his nude photos were of anthropological import and are referred to today by academics.  I may do a series on those at a later date.
