Western Photography Guild - Stray Domestic Scenes

Don Whitman of Western Photography Guild in Denver photographed men in a variety of situations.  He even went so far with his domestically staged photos to do multiple series of models "At Home."
Today I'm featuring some possible strays from those sets for which I don't have complete series.
This is Terry Redpath in front of a fireplace.  Is that an Aztec calendar?

  1. My aunt had one just like it in her house (early 70's) orange and yellow in color and made with stiffened yarn. Also had the coffee table made of highly polished
petrified wood, the Keane paintings of the pitiful wide-eyed children, and the free-form candles made with sea sand.

    1. 70s schlock that my cousin described as "the most hideous design era ever." Remember the avocado fridges? Macrame hanging everywhere?

    2. The colors back then were cook-stone brown, harvest yellow or buttercup, burnt orange or red.
Planters and hanging pots of ferns and sensitive plants (their leaves would close when you touched them). The Quasar tv set.
The Mediterranean style furniture, the large paintings of some village or a group of fountains painted on glass that would light up or the hanging statues with the strands of clear plastic wire that carried clear oil on them to resemble rain.
The mogul style rattan and bamboo tub and peacock chairs purchased at the granddaddy of import stores- The Akron.
And let's not forget the odor of punk sticks and patchouli incense cones that my aunt would use to cover up the smell of the cannabis she would smoke once in a blue moon !. - You get the picture.
