This rather languid pose by Adrien Deriaz is sometimes mistakenly included with the artists' studies done by Marconi and Igout, neither of whom was living during Adrien's career.  I can understand the mistake, though, given the style, posing, and rock used as a prop.

  1. I can see why some sources attribute this to Marconi or Igout, very similar. A truly wonderful pose, it rather sums up this era nicely. Photography partly replacing the drawn or painted image. Despite its vintage the resolution is good enough to show some of Adrien's vascular development. From his expression I suspect he rather liked doing this. A masterpiece and, as usual inspiring...one to do...but probably not as well..

  2. Okay, this man looks like he's circumcised. That was NOT the norm back then. Or maybe he skinned it back? There are a couple photos of Popeschil below where his looks cut, too. But could it be skinned back as well?

    1. No, not the norm. Whatever his status in that regard, at least the photo has been authenticated as Adrien and unaltered. In this business that's often the best we can hope for, lol.
