The man seated here turns up again and again in my "unattributed" files.
He's built like a lot of early 70s Colt models, but I'm not sure he is one.
Both of these men seem to be "built," which makes me think the hippie look was more a fashion statement than "real hippiness." It doesn't matter, really. I do like the composition of the picture. Did you crop out the face of the standing male, or was the picture composed this way? It's unusual and attractive. Another good post, Jerry. Thanks!
Thanks for more hippies! I think I like them so much because so many naked hippie photos seem so candid; people were very eager to take their clothes off at that time in history and it would have been relatively easy to see naked guys, lol. Plus they aren't manscaped to a fare-the-well. In any event, I missed it, darn. Only a kid in the late '60s early '70s.
I entered college in 1969 near the height of the hippie movement, and male nudity was common on two fronts. There were the hippies, of course, and it was also still the time of gang showers and huge open locker rooms.

ReplyDeleteThe picture was composed this way, afaik. Glad you enjoyed the series.
