We close the first Pat Rocco series with Dakota, winner of the 1972 Groovy Guy contest.  I first learned of this contest when I snagged some images off a website featuring early gay themed advertising.  At the time I had no idea who Pat Rocco was, never mind that he sponsored the contest and ad.

  1. An aside: What is it with white people calling their kids Dakota? You don't see us naming our kids Belgium, do you?

    1. I have a friend who used to work in the names registration section of the Louisiana agency that issues birth certificates. You simply would not believe what some people chose to name their kids. (My favorite was Toyota, but there was more than one California.) In this case, I have a feeling the guy called himself that, but at some point new parents started using it.
