Beard Day, Part 3 - 19th C. Academic Art

Part three of our bearded triple feature takes us back to one of my favorite categories, 19th Century academic art.  At least as far as some artists went, their work as students seems to have surpassed their later work, particularly when it came to male nudes.  In fact, there are more than a few whose academic works are preserved while little or nothing from their actual careers remains.
