And a third Kanovsky
This is probably my favorite of the three Kanovsky photos in my collection.
If anybody knows anything about this photographer, please let me know.
These males have handsome bodies and great musculature! This Kanovsky chose his models well. His lighting contrast really shows their bodies nicely. Thanks, Jerry!
The three Kanovsky photos are all really good but this is probably my favourite too. They are a real find. I agree with Big Dude that he chose his models well. Good looks and stunning physiques. Do you have any idea of when they were taken? I wondered if they were early '50s? Hopefully somebody knows about or can find something out about Kanovsky. If there are any more photos like these I'd love to see them.
My best guess is that they are from the Interwar Period, probably about 1930. That's based on the composition, hair styles, and themes. They remind me of Riebicke's work in Germany around that time.
The men may be French naturists ca 1930s. As for Kanovsky, he could be either Russian or Polish, for France at that time had large Russian and Polish communities. -Rj in the IE
