Friday Favorites, Part 2 - Art

Part two of our double feature is made up of some of my favorite art pieces, several of which I have not managed to post in the past.  (I have so many images, there's no way I will ever get them all on here, sigh.)  We start the second half dozen with The Rope, a 1954 painting by Jared French.  I find it intensely interesting because after an initial moment, the focus of the picture becomes the older man holding the rope.  His sleeves and cuffs don't match, we see tan lines in several places, and then there's that look on his face.  It's deadpan, worldly, and somehow yearning all at the same time.
