Yueqin

\Google says this young man his playing the yuequin, a Chinese instrument.
The photographic work looks like Pat Milo . . . or maybe Bruce of LA.

  1. Interesting lighting, isn't it? He has "that shadow" on his left thigh. I knew that instrument he is playing as a pi pa.

  2. My favourite in this series. It does look similar in style to Pat Milo. The model is a handsome guy and he has a great body. I'd like to see more of him. Do you have any idea who he is or where this came from, Jerry?

    1. I posted this one partially in hope of gaining some information on it, and another viewer says in the comments that he is David Gregory, likely by Bruce. I think that's correct.

  3. Checked my files - I have a different pose of him with this same instrument - no photographer listed, but the lighting setup looks similar to other Bruce photos - I also have AMG photos of him - he was also in some hard core mags around that time

    1. I have four other Bruce photos of David, and the lighting is similar. I'm sure you're right. Thanks again!

  4. Ah, this one reminds me of the gay comedy troupe Bloolips' show Little Red Shoes, which was about the life of Chairman Mao's last wife, Jiang Quing - one of the Gang of Four and a former actress. It opened with a Judy Garland look-alike, sitting on the stage singing, "I was born in a junk on the Wei Wei River" ("I was born in a trunk on the Mississippi River" from A Star is Born) and contained the fabulous line: "Welcome to the 1950s, decade of austerity and the Great Leap Forward - au revoir art deco...". It was just about the most hilarious thing I have ever seen. We left the theatre aching from the laughter.

    1. Sounds like a fun night out! Did they film this?

    2. They certainly weren't recording the night I went. (I tried to see it a second time but it was a sell-out.) I think there might be one or two clips of their work from another show (Gland Motel) drifting about out there but I haven't come across them recently. They toured America as well as Germany and the Benelux countries as well.

  5. jsstrand is right! That's David Gregory who posed for AMG and Bruce of LA. This photo is definitely BoLA.

David did a gay porno titled THE INTIMATE REBELS back in the 70s. It was promoted in one of my gay video mags from back in the 1990s that often had a "Classics" section.

This is the first time I've seen this photo. That instrument he's holding threw me for a loop. I actually wondered how long it would be for me to remember his name! Ha!

  6. As you may know Jerry, I've been organizing my sizable collection for some time, and I just yesterday came across my copy of this picture, and wondered what the instrument was. I categorized it under sitars, ukuleles, banjos, etc. Now I can add the proper name of the instrument to the category, as well as know the model's name. Thanks Jerry!
