Darryl

Darryl Powers was a Florida man who lived near Walter Kundzicz's Sunshine Beach Club
nudist resort and became a frequent model for Champion.  I need to give him his own series
as I have found some interesting details on his life on line.

  1. He would bring Sunshine to any beach. The shadowing is well done...

  2. A truly stunning physique. Looking forward to his own series.

  3. I understand that married very young and with a baby, Powers in fact moved onto the Sunshine Beach Club and lived there in a trailer. He became a stalwart of the Physique genre as well as the Health & Efficiency straight nudist magazines. He proved so popular that I have a photoshopped image of him rowing naked on the Sunshine stretch of beach, when in fact he was wearing a decent-sized pair of swimming briefs. Another model with a beautifully harmonious physique who didn't let bodybuilding get the better of him.

    1. In those days marrying young with a baby often meant a shotgun wedding.

  4. A great photo. A series on Mr. Powers would be very welcome. I agree wholeheartedly with Calorman about his beautifully harmonious physique.

    1. I have to confess that, for reasons I can't explain, I've never been a fan of this model. That won't stop me from posting a series on him, though. He's popular, has an interesting story, and I post images I don't like all the time. I learned a long time ago not to make the blog about my own personal taste.

I've seen pics of him on a site devoted to bygone eras of naturist resorts--and always thought he was European! Lol. I'm not sure why. He and the lady friend he's frequently shown with just struck me as having an eastern European "look".

    1. Interesting observation about his origins. The nudist resorts feature prominently in his work and life.

  6. I have to agree with the moderator and say I too have never been a fan of Darryl Powers.
