We hit the infamous AMG shower for this shot of David Elliott.
He was in the groundbreaking gay movie Song of the Loon.
I’m pretty sure that “Song of the Loon” can be found on YouTube in a rather deteriorated condition. It was a sensation in its time, but I found it lacking in most areas. It was supposed to be ground breaking because it was about homosexuality. There was speculation that the actors were probably gay, in addition to the gay subject matter. The publicity poster for this movie was the best part of the movie. While David Elliot is gorgeous, he’s not much of an actor.
Thanks for your take on the movie. Some critics (even gay friendly ones) said they initially mistook the film for a comedy, only to realize it was supposed to be serious. Oh, dear. There is general agreement, however, that the film opened doors for gay themes and characters, and that's a good thing.
