In 1943, Paul Cadmus, Jared French, and Margaret Hoening were in a three way sexual relationship as well as an artistic partnership called the PaJaMa Collective. That was the year Paul Cadmus painted The Shower, featuring all three of them at an outdoor beach shower. The style was called Magic Realism, and it became their trademark, with Jared French having the most critical success.
I like both the painting and the name "Magic Realism." The name fits perfectly.
