Barney Reid 1969
Our last entry won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it's edgy and interesting. It's Standing Male Nude by Barney Reid from 1969, and it was done by layering enamel over a copper plate. Innovative, eh?
Well, it is indeed "edgy" but Mr Reid would perhaps never have contemplated using enamel had it not been used in the Art Nouveau period, another incredibly innovative time in the arts. There are tremendous parallels in the two periods - even fashions returned in the 1960s. Looking back to my early life in the '60s compared with today, I am tempted to wonder where all the artists have gone... long time passing.
ja, interessant od nyskapendeav herr reid, god observasjon fra din side. * osloson
