Wine skin
This guy is getting some joy out of one of those leather wine thingies.
I was so busy looking at him, I didn't spot the sofa, which I think is properly a settee. Believe it or not, my parents had one, very similar to that. My father had an absolute knack of putting ultra-modern pieces next to antiques. He hated three-piece suites. The individually different chairs were covered in purple chord and the settee was a light mustard yellow on a white, floral edged Wilton carpet. It sounds bilious, but somehow it worked to magnificent effect. I wonder where it is now.
Couldn't you find a pic of this good lookin' guy in a giant champagne glass frolicking in the nude?! A pic like that must be somewhere out there. (went to Montreal in the 90s, a nightclub had an incredible lookin' guy bathing nude in a giant champagne glass) Oh well, I luv this mid-century pic. He looks great with his handsome face and lithe physique. What a nice way to start the New Year!.................... :)
A "wineskin" or an "askos" - from the Greek ασκός οίνου. And he looks hell-bent on getting a skin full!
