I recently awarded the first Miss Magnolia Thunderpussy Offense Against Taste and Decency Award, to my buddy and fellow former New Orleans resident, Dee Exx. He won for pointing out the most fashion faux paus in a Karlheinz Weinberger photo of a garishly dressed Swiss man. His prize was to choose a theme for a series, and he came up with a challenging one, otters. No, not the cute mammals who crack mussels on their tummies, but lithe, hairy males with beards. I've had to stretch my time limitations, so some of these are well past 1975, but I think you'll enjoy them. We start with a guy whom I really think I should know, but can't place the name. DeleteYes, Paul Baressi. In 1985 he tried to pick me up in a Ralph's Market... (true story). I was too overwhelmed by his overtly masculine manner to take him up on it. Do I regret it?.. maybe. But I still have the story to tell... ha.
