Tarzan wannabe
This guy looks like he was auditioning for a role as Tarzan,and I'd say
he at least had a shot at it. He could be somebody famous. Who knows?
The leotard probably dates to the late '20s, early '30s when the tops were rapidly disappearing from the one-piece to become the standard swimming trunks. Various designs souped up the standard leotard, with open backs, open midriffs and this one-shouldered number. This seems to be some sort of spa or club and the pool is being fed, I would guess, from some sort of spring. The Victorian pool I swam in was supplied in the same way. If a spa or club, the sexes would have been strictly segregated with different times for use and so I think the leotard is for the benefit of the camera because he would doubtlessly swim naked.
That looks like a continental bath house. Possibly Scandinavian ? 1930s? All guesses. Certainly film star looks and physique.
