When it comes to photographic work by the PaJaMa Collective of Paul Cadmus, Jared French,
and Margaret Hoening French, it's generally safe to assume that it was by Jared French. There
were exceptions, however, and this grainy shot of a jumping Jared may be one. Although it's
possible that this was done with a timer, it would have been difficult. It may be by Margaret,
who donated this and several other items from today's set to the Smithsonian after Jared's death.
As you will see, it was likely the historic relevance of the group rather than the quality of the
individual photos which got them into that important museum collection.
I like this shot despite it's technical faults. It projects liveliness and good nature and fun.
