William Ritter seems to have posed solo more than his brother Fred, leading many observers to the conclusion that Fred was the better photographer. In the case of this photo, however, the waters are muddied because some, but far from all, resellers have labeled this as by Lynes. Although there may well be some, I've never found a solo Ritter stongly authenticated as Lynes'.
