Movin' on up . . .


This photo by Henri Bresson was taken in the early 1960s, and Lincoln Kirsten looks like he was thinking about how the New York City Ballet, which he founded, had outgrown its facilities.  Not to worry.  Mr. K. set about raising money, and a few years later a shining new theater was built in the Lincoln Center complex.  It is shown in two photos below and remains the home of the NYCB today.
