Miles M. Glidden was born and raised in California and had some pronounced tan lines when he was photographed at St. Mary's College Pre-flght School. Sadly, he was killed in action in the Soloman Islands in 1944, having been awarded The Distinguished Flying Cross. Rest in Peace.
I'm including these somber bits because while we enjoy seeing these military photos,
the young men in them put their lives on the line and sometimes lost them.
I like when we get some info on the models. It makes them more human. I know that sounds weird, but its why I do it on my blog. They were more than than a model. They had lives.
ReplyDeleteYes, they had lives, and I'm glad you also incorporate that into your blog when possible.
DeleteI really appreciate that Information also. Not always easy to find but always glad to know it. Yes, sometimes they are criminals but some are heroes and had full lives.
DeleteYou're welcome, Anon.
DeleteI also appreciate the information as a reminder of the sacrifices that so many took in the name of freedom. They are remembered.
ReplyDeleteI try to get these reminders out there on a regular basis. As they say, "Lest we forget . . . "
