At first glance, I thought the young man at center had his hand on the other guys bottom.
A closer look proved otherwise, but it's still a rather interesting photo.
And there's the guy off to the side again holding that odd object.

  1. I had no idea Eakins photographed naked males. I was aware of his paintings, though. These are interesting and arty, and cool. Thanks, Jerry, for a male history lesson. Big Dude

    1. You're welcome. I've posted dozens of Eakins' male nude photos, and you can click on his label at right to see them.

  2. I was aware that Mr Eakins photographed naked males, and although he did some nice paintings of them, I always prefer actual photographs. It had to be quite pleasurable to be around those naked fellows, and being able to share his own nakedness with them too.

    1. While it was probably pleasurable for Mr. Eakins to do the nude work, the actual sessions were described as completely non-sexual. It was only decades after his death that it became known that he was homosexual and had a long time relationship.

  3. I was aware of his paintings, but not his photography as such. These were fascinating to view! A very complex man indeed from what I am now reading about him. Thank you Jerry!

    2. Thanks Jerry! As I said I didn't know a lot about his photography, seeing all this is very impressive!
