656 Two in One?
For some reason, Number 656 appears solo from two angles in the same frame. Is it just me,
or does this look like two different men? The height difference seems key.
You got me curious. Both are taken on the right side of the 2 curtain set. (the white strings holding the 2 curtains are both on left side of each half image. The handwritten 656 in chalk is identical. However the right image is a bit lower than the left image. I suspect they had a mask covering half of the glass plate for first shot, then they moved the glass plate to the left to expose the right side. (note there is a white line between each half.
I put the 2 halves over each other in photoshop, and adjusted so the 656 would match (right image was a bit lower). This also made the white line/mark on floor also match. For the photo of guy facing curtain, he is closer to curtain than sideways shot (based on feet on that white mark). But not by much.
Fingertip heights are within small enough difference hat it could be just fingers more extended in one and more relaxed in other. Tried matching knees but very hard for me to match a point on side view with same point on rear view (knee height would not be affected by posture). Would need to study more anatomy to know how to compare knees.
The neck is close enough. But shoulders different (which could be explained with a stiffer posture with shoulders higher on the sideways photo vs relaxed on photo facing curtain.
Finger tips are close enough in height, (one photo might have fingers more relaxed while other has then more extended).
This is actually more of a challenge to compare than I thought. One area that I found a match is not the base of ass, but the point where it extends out the most, and this matches perfectly on the 2 images.
In conclusion, I can't say if they are the same individual or not. It would make sense that they would be from point of view of taking 2 photos on same glass plate, you'd expect the same individual would be on set and just retate as instructed. There are enough "parameters" that are close enough to say it could be same guy but when facing wall, not standing up straight/tight. But it could also be someone else (though would not make sense.
Thank you for all the work you put into this! I agree that it doesn't make sense for there to be two different men there, but they just seem different.
