Lon on New York, aka Alonzo Hanagan, was a pioneering New York photographer
who began photographing nude men in the 1930's. He had a thriving mail order business that got
him into trouble with the law on several occasions. Lon was beaten by the police, jailed, forced to
undergo psychiatric treatment, and had his negatives and photos destroyed. And yet he persisted in the face of all that and became a legend. Tonight I am featuring duos by Lon, and we start with
Jack Icino (left) and Charlie Pellicane. We must never forget the brave men who suffered
persecution so that we can enjoy the freedom to enjoy male nude photography.
There are still those who would take that freedom away.
Nice oil sheen on these two.
